“It is what comes out of a man that defiles him, not what enters into him” (Luke 11:37-41). What Jesus seeks to refer to here is that a person is defiled by the evil in his or her heart and not the omissions of ritual purification rites which the Pharisees had complained about.
The advice for us also is to really do an introspection to really see what we have stored in our hearts. Is it goodness or hatred and malice?
Remember, what comes out of us is a reflection of what we have treasured in our hearts.
